Trying to capture what nature puts before me in my inspiration.
Bio: My work is inspired by the dynamic interplay of light and movement in nature. Through painting, I seek to capture brief, evocative moments using color, value and technique.
Creativity is a universal trait, and for me, it is expressed through the visual arts. My artistic process is rooted in dedication, ongoing practice and learning from accomplished mentors. Each finished piece reflects both the challenges and the rewards of pursuing excellence in art.
When all these come together, the finished piece is magical!
Artist Statement: Born in Cumberland, Maryland as one of six siblings, Donna’s passion for art persisted through numerous relocations and careers in retail and banking. Upon retirement, she became an art instructor in northwest Ohio, sharing her expertise in oil and acrylic painting. Her portfolio includes commissioned pieces and works featured in local galleries and retail shops. Donna’s art spans still life, florals, landscapes and impressionism and animal portraits, reflecting her commitment to excellence and ongoing study of light, value and application.
She is inspired by Maya Angelou’s words:
